The Authenticity of Shooting in Ja'alan
In the Wilayat of Ja'alan Bani Bu Hassan, where the serene "desert and Bedouin" environment of Tahayem harmonizes, another voice of authenticity emerges... a voice that embodies precision, strength, and ancient heritage: the sound of shooting.
Just as "Tal Marhab" is the symbol of adventure, "The Sniper Championship" is the official arena for skill, backed by the falcons of
The Sniper Championship: A Challenge of Skill and Heritage
"The Sniper Championship" is not merely a competition, but a true challenge for traditional firearms shooting and clay pigeon shooting. The championship takes place at the officially accredited shooting range in Ja'alan Bani Bu Hassan, which is the first official shooting range in the entire South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
An open invitation to all shooters from the Wilayat and across the Sultanate of Oman to compete in the sport of our fathers and grandfathers, with all the excitement, precision, and skill it entails.
This championship, held at the peak of the winter season (such as February 2025), embodies the spirit of fair competition and preserves the legacy of our ancestors in the art of shooting.
The Nurturing Environment of Authenticity
These distinctive championships come as part of a broader vision to invest in the "comparative advantage" of Ja'alan Bani Bu Hassan Wilayat. Whether it's the sand dunes in Tahayem village that serve as a haven for desert sand enthusiasts, or the rich mountainous and agricultural environment, the Wilayat presents itself as an attractive tourist destination year-round.
Here comes the role of "Ja'alan Shooting Team" to add a new dimension to this momentum, aiming to:
- Revive a competitive sport that promotes tourism
- Organize accompanying events that support economic foundations
- Highlight the natural beauty of the region
Falcons Guarding Heritage
Behind this precise organization stands a prestigious team that is one of the oldest traditional firearms shooting teams in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate. This is not an ordinary team, but an entity comprising no less than 200 shooters with extensive experience, having achieved numerous accomplishments at both local and Gulf levels.
The team's vision aims to:
- Revive and preserve Omani heritage.
- Operate officially and organizedly under the umbrella of the "Omani Committee for Traditional Firearms Shooting."
- Discover new talents and refine competitors' skills for the future.
An Identity Rooted in History
As with "Tal Marhab," the identity of "Ja'alan Shooting Team" is deeply rooted in the Wilayat's heritage. The logo alone tells a story connecting the glorious past with the present and bright future:
- The Crossed Rifles: Symbolize the team and its core identity.
- The Fort and Tower: A symbol establishing the historical status of Ja'alan Bani Bu Hassan Wilayat.
- The Crossed Spears: The official emblem of the Wilayat, symbolizing courage, determination, and might.
- Mount Qahwan: As one of the Wilayat's landmarks, symbolizes strength and steadfastness.
- The Sun: Evidence of a bright future and upcoming challenges.
- The Binoculars (Scope): Symbolize rules, regulations, precision, and reaching targets.
"The Sniper Championship," organized by "Ja'alan Shooting Team," is more than just a competition; it is a living embodiment of the Wilayat's vision. It is an event that combines the precision of "binoculars," the steadfastness of "Mount Qahwan," and the authenticity of "fortresses," to deliver a unique tourism and heritage experience.
